Fahmi has been involved in physical urban planning for more than 20 years. Experienced as Project Design & Implementation Director makes him an expert in many aspect of urban planning. His career started as Town Planner with ML Design Architect which exposed him to many international master planning and urban design projects.
After few years, he then enhanced his career in Development and Project Management in PEREMBA Development Sdn. Bhd. With PEREMBA, he achieved many success stories in managing design and implementation of many townships among them, Precinct 11 Putrajaya which won the Best Master Plan Award by FIABCI Malaysia and the Best Urban Township Development by the Malaysian Institute of Planners (MIP).
In 2008, He left PEREMBA to pursue further in Urban Planning Consultancy which he then set-up Urban SCALE. The set up has grown from an infant planning firm in 2008 to a well established company that currently having more than 35 personnel responsible in managing and designing various urban planning projects from master planning, strategic planning and urban design.
Urban SCALE has privileged to be involved with various range of important clients which entrusted Urban SCALE to design projects that can be identified as iconic township and projects in the country.
Clients for Urban SCALE to name a few are, Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Destination Resort & Hospitality Sdn. Bhd. (DRH) , Themed Attraction Resorts Sdn. Bhd. (TAR), Tradewinds Berhad, Sime Darby Property Berhad, SP Setia Berhad, PETRONAS, KLCC Projects, DRB HICOM Berhad etc.
As part of the giving back initiatives especially towards creating and developing new talent in urban planning profession, Fahmi is very passionate in sharing his experience and knowledge with the young professionals through serious of seminars and conferences, local and international.
Further recognition has been given by higher institutions when he has been acknowledged by Universiti Malaya by being appointed as the committee member at the Centre of Studies of Built Environment Faculty. Additionally, he has also being entrusted by Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia to develop the curriculum for the Technology and Hospitality Programme under the Technical Education and Vocational Faculty.
